UBUG: The Umpqua Basin GIS Users Group
GIS and Cartographic Professionals in Douglas County, Oregon
Who We Are
The Umpqua Basin GIS Users Group (UBUG) is based out of Roseburg, Oregon. We are a Section in the
Oregon and SW Washington Chapter of URISA.
Our members represent Municipal, Regional and County Governments, State and Federal Agencies, Utility Districts,
Timber Companies, and other Private firms. A wide range of operating systems and GIS systems are represented,
including ArcView, Microstation, GeoMedia, Arc/Info, ArcGIS and AutoCAD.
Experience levels range from GIS Coordinators to individuals who are just starting to investigate GIS and what it
can do for their agency.
Membership is free and involves no obligation to participate. It is open to anyone. To be invited to the next meeting,
contact our President.

Latest meeting -- December 12, 2007
- George Day gave a presentation of the new camera system that the DFPA is using to monitor the fire situation in remote areas of Douglas County. The cameras are replacing fire lookouts as they become obsolete and need to be replaced.
- Kathy Thompson and Terrie Franssen gave a presentation on the New Douglas County GIS website. It is a very thorough website that users can access to get information about parcels within Douglas County. The website address is http://atlas.co.douglas.or.us/pubgis/framesetup.asp
