• Meeting called to order by George Day at 08:35 a.m.
• Presentation by Mark Bosworth of URISA explaining about the advantages of forming as a splinter group and some of the meetings / workshops available.
• Motion made and passed to join Oregon URISA as a splinter group for Douglas area.
• Motion made and passed to name the group UBUG: Umpqua Basin Users Group
• Motion made and passed to elect George Day as first President of UBUG
• Chris Wayne volunteered to contact Teleport/URISA about a web page for UBUG
• Gordon Coons informed group about next OGISA meeting in Eugene Nov. 18. Check URISA web page for details.
• Lee Ross and Chris Buhi from ESRI displayed a demo of ArcView 3.1 with Image Analysis and other extensions. They offered other demos as desired for future meetings. Announced a new class from ESRI titled Mastering ArcView, an advanced ArcView Class.

• Kathy reported that Heidi had developed soils information and explained about County water information
• Kathy informed group about ORBID Oregon Road Base Information Data - a group to exchange road information to use uniform standards
• Ed shared with the group that a 1-meter DOQ (Digital Ortho Quad) file took 155mb of storage but a 3 meter DOQ only used 17mb. You could convert a 1-meter to a 3-meter and back again with software.
• Chris offered to follow up on contacting OGISA/URISA about forming an Official users group
• Everyone agreed to meet formally every other month with the next meeting to be mid July preferred to be Friday Mornings
• George offered to send out Email to everyone of meetings minutes with everyone's Email addresses - (Done)
• Suggested to invite any private users to group, example Timber CO's
• Chris offered to send George a script for Query and script to pick bearing from a place. How about a script to enter Lat/Long and zoom to place?
• George offered to Email Link for Xtools information to Ed- (Done)
• Several names for the Group were suggested and Chris volunteered to come back with suggestions for names and a mission statement. These would be needed for membership in OGISA.
